Mark serves on the Board of The Mekong Club and is additionally chairman of the Financial Services sector group. Mark is a global leader with a geographically diverse and broad based 30 year commercial banking experience at leading financial institution Standard Chartered Bank.
From 2003 until 2007 he served as Country CEO for Standard Chartered Bank in Japan, and from 2008 until 2010 he served as CEO for Standard Chartered Bank’s Thailand operations.
Mark Devadason’s last role at Standard Chartered was as Global Head of Sustainability. He was in charge of the Group’s overall Sustainability agenda, central to the Bank’s strategy including responsibility for the Bank’s environmental and social risk management function and community investment activities.
After leaving Standard Chartered Bank in early 2016, Mark established a consulting company and has established a diverse portfolio of clients broadly supporting a sustainability agenda. Mark is Senior Advisor in Asia for the global sustainability consultancy Business for Social Responsibility, and Director in Asia for Australian based Northquest.
