Despite Canada’s reputation as a safe and prosperous country, labour trafficking has become an alarming reality for migrant workers and international students in agriculture, hospitality, domestic work, and construction industries. Shockingly, the Global Slavery Index reports that around 69,000 individuals live in conditions of forced labour or forced marriage in Canada, with the actual number likely even higher due to underreporting.
