While the recent G7 Summit acknowledged the global scourge of forced labour for the first time, activists argue more urgent action is needed as over 28 million remain in global supply chains. Despite opportunities to adopt policies to eradicate exploitation from supply chains and address its root causes linked to conflicts and climate change, concrete commitments were noticeably absent.
