The UK’s care industry has become a hotbed for modern slavery, with a shocking 100% increase in reported cases in the past year alone. Unseen, an anti-slavery charity, has written a “record high” in cases of sex trafficking, forced labour, and domestic servitude. These findings are even more concerning given that there are still around 100,000 people living as modern slaves in the UK, according to the human rights organisation Walk Free.
