Join The Mekong Club for a members working group session on the ILO’s updated Forced Labour Indicators, with a particular focus on the new guidance relating to state-imposed forced labour.

Drawing on the ILO’s revised 2025 indicators and Global Rights Compliance’s publication Forced to Work by the State, this session will explore how the updated framework can help practitioners identify key red flags, understand the distinct features of state-imposed forced labour, and apply the indicators in real-world contexts. The discussion will consider situations where compulsion may be embedded in laws, policies, or official practices, rather than through direct employer coercion.

The session will feature insights from experts with experience in business and human rights, forced labour risk assessment, investigative research, corporate compliance and supply chain due diligence.

The session will include brief presentations, followed by an open discussion and Q&A. It will provide a valuable forum for members to exchange perspectives, share insights, and explore the relevance of the updated indicators to prevention, detection and response efforts.
