International Financial Sector Alliance Against Modern Slavery Program

Funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and supported by the ACAMS Australasian Chapter, this exclusive international program aims to strengthen the financial sector’s capacity in Australia and the Indo-Pacific region to address modern slavery risks in project financing through a human rights due diligence approach.

The program includes five online training sessions at 11am (AEST) starting on 27 September, followed by an optional session on 12 December, and concludes with an in–person working group in Sydney, Australia on 20 February. Each 60-minute session will feature a Q&A segment and be conducted by renowned experts in the human rights and financial sectors.

Learning Objectives

By attending, you will gain an understanding of global modern slavery issues, trends, and financial sector challenges. You will also have the opportunity to take a confidential voluntary baseline assessment developed by The Mekong Club to evaluate your current modern slavery strategy against industry standards. Additionally, you will have access to exclusive online tools to upskill team members, improve policies and procedures, enhance informed knowledge sharing, and increase capacity building.

To receive a certificate of achievement upon completion of the program, participants must attend at least 4 out of the 6 sessions. Your commitment to addressing modern slavery and human trafficking issues is highly valued.
